"BeautyBloggers.org is a collaboration of beauty bloggers and brands. In the spirit of the holidays, we wanted to make a meaningful contribution to charity — knowing that the most effective donation to any charity is cash.
So we’re putting our (new) makeup on the auction block. Winning bids will be donated directly to Doctors Without Borders. Bidders anywhere in the world are welcome, and shipping is “free.” That is, the full amount of your winning bid will go to charity — the bloggers have agreed to donate the cost of shipping, in addition to the items themselves.
We’re raising money for Doctors Without Borders because women are always disproportionately affected in any disaster. This organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people in crisis, regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation. They treat rape victims in Papua New Guinea; they make sure women don’t die in childbirth in Pakistan; they helped flood victims in Mexico and earthquake victims in Haiti. They work in 65 countries around the world, and your donation will make an immediate impact. Click here to learn more about MSF.
We’ll be collecting payment through a secure page set up with Doctors Without Borders.
The 2011 auction begins at 8 am CST on Monday, November 28, and ends at 5 pm CST on Monday, December 12. "

Movin' On Up

"MAKE UP FOR EVER TO OPEN FIRST LICENCED U.S. ACADEMY IN NEW YORK CITY IN JANUARY 2012"
-Leading Make Up Company Brings Distinctive Educational Experience to North America

Wow. This is beyond, exciting. MAKE UP FOR EVER is opening an Academy in January. MAKE UP FOREVER remains one of the dominant, most exclusive brands in the industry. An Academy in New York, is as cool as studying at La Sorbonne.

I love this brand, the bold pigments, whimsical false lashes, Body & Face Foundation, covers flaws and bronze celebs on the red carpet. The 12 Flash Color Case, the ultra-complete color palette. All the Pros carry Flash Color in their kits. The Aqua Cream shadows are delicious. I could go on & on.

MAKE UP FOREVER's Creator & Artistic Director Dany Sanz, sculptor & painter, transformed the industry. Known for her trailblazing body painting in the 70's, daring rainbow of color and master technique. She created MAKE UP FOREVER to share her expert knowledge with novice artists. She opened the first Academy in Paris in 2002, spreading the MAKE UP FOR EVER philosophy worldwide.

I remember going into the NYC store to pick out product for a benefit, featuring Cyndi Lauper, Sandra Bernhard & Natalie Merchant. I walked out with everything under the sun. A big fan of all three divas, I wanted to be ready. I was super prepared, waterproof liquid liner, check. Yellow eyeshadow, check. A prepped, well- trained artist is a confident one. Confidence is contagious.

I wish there had been a top notch MAKEUP FOR EVER Academy when I started. With pros teaching and guiding each application. As I fumbled my way into makeup, assisted, held "famous" artists' pencils, carried bags, mostly I watched. How they could  masterfully blend a kohl pencil on the eye, with a single brush stroke. Genius. I paid attention, began to develop my own style. It took many, many years, sweat and tears. School would've been way easier and faster.

The Academy will be led by the highly skilled artiste, Floriane David.  The curriculum is divided into three divisions. So cool. Heck, I might even sign up and hone my skills. You can be sure you'll learn lots of new techniques and innovative ideas. Plus, meet creative, fun interesting artists. With makeup, you are always discovering new products, applications, different techniques, new ways of thinking. It's endless, so follow your passion. Get painting.
MAKE UP FOREVER's Academy is guaranteed not to disappoint.

It's My Party and I'll Beautify If I Want To

Stila's two for one product combos can't be beat. Cherry Crush Lip and Cheek Stain is a lovely blushing, berry stain. It paints the lip a forbidden fruit, succulent, cherry red. With its twist up bottom, you control the right amount. On the lips, just turn, brush and go. To brighten the cheeks, apply directly to the apples and blend, adding more depth as you go. For a youthful, healthy glow, mix the stain with a bit of moisturizer to the back of the hand, voila circus brides and young maidens are back in Vogue. Oh yeah, Cherry Crush is made with Vitamins A, C and E for the ultimate experience in moisture. Antioxidants cherry and pomegranate extracts enrich the lip and skin. Good for you and looks great, too. Beauty editors will love it. I'm sold.

Convertible Color, Dual Lip and Cheek Cream in Lillium is a natural tint in the sheerest pink that comes in a cute, pint size compact. Another two for the price of one, wear it on the lips or apply with a foundation brush to the cheek for the slightest hint of blush. Winner of 'Best Cream Blush' by In Style Best Beauty Buys 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, it's no wonder Lillium is a win-win.

Glide On By

MAC Cosmetics has gone big and bold for Holiday. They have not one, two but more collections launching over the season. I can't wait to see what fabulous products MAC has in store for us. Inside and out, amazing.

I received Glitter and Ice. It's a WHOPPING 34 piece collection filled with Paint Pots, Mineralize Eye Shadows, Powders, Lipsticks, Nails, Dazzleglasses, and Technakohl Eye Liners. The packaging is too cool, crisp silver and white. The line is modeled by skater extraordinaire, Johnny Weir. Sequins, spins, twirls, Glitter & Ice is mesmerizing makeup. It's Ice Capades all grown up. I don't even mind the cold, with all these dazzling shades and colors to play with.
Paint Pots are divine, not too creamy to slide, not too thick. For Effect is a shimmery black base, with multi-specks of gray & silver, it can be applied heavy on the eye for a gunmetal look or swept delicately for a beautiful wash of gray, a softer application. The texture allows you to create just the right look.
Mineralize Eye Shadows in its white packaging and swirls of cool color, looks like the moon and frost by night. Shimmermint and Frozen Blue pigments look lovely applied delicately to the lid in a wash of pearly, subtle green and blue.
What Joy! Satin Lipstick is a deep burgundy. In it's sleek white case, it's the wicked shade for when you feel a little vampy and don't have a lot of time for a full face. Lipstick, Mascara and off you go. It reminds me of a shade The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo might wearThe Swedish version of course. :) A little mysterious, sexy cool, motorcycle lover, frozen on ice.

Bring On The Bling

myface.cosmetics is a fresh, hip brand out of the U.K., created by queen artiste Charlotte Tilbury and  famed makeup artists worldwide. Charlotte is known for painting celebrities, high glamour runway, and red carpet magic. myface.cosmetics is glamour made simple, exclusive for the everyday woman. The collection comes in three colour categories, fair, medium, and medium/dark. The website is sleek and effortless to navigate and the products are mix and match easy, and so very pretty.

Blingbar is my favorite, it's beautifully bright and bold makeup. Available in metallic eye colors, they are the buzz in Hollywood. Lindsay Lohan, Victoria Beckham and Agyness Deyn are fans. The pigment and pearl eyeshadows go on sparkly smooth, and won't fall down the face. Blingtone lights up the eye with a sexy, wet look and a wash of smashing color. Lil' bling nail in haute chrome, is the perfect match to Blingtone shadow.

All That Shines Bright

Eye Def
Gleaming, glorious, glitterati.
Hard Candy’s new Eye Def glitter eyeshadow is the perfect texture and amount of sheen. It’s extra long brush makes for breezy application. I like to apply it to the back of my hand first, then pat onto the lid. Eye Def dries super fast. I especially love, What Sandy Says Goes. A pretty champagne color with specks of gold. It's great for day or night, layering well with other colors. I like it alone or with falsies and a nude lip for day. Spice up the glittery eye with a dark lip for night. Eye Def is so pretty go ahead and play, you can't go wrong.

World Balmination Glossy Tinted Lip Balm

Chapped, dry lips be gone. World Balmination glosses are here. They glide on smooth, leaving lips supple and moist, but not sticky. Made with Shea butter, coconut oil and mango, they are right on time for winter. The tinted gloss comes in eight shades and flavors. The balm is thick enough that the tube won't break while applying. The new graphic designs are super cute, hello loving the skull. Lovestruck is a pretty pink shade that leaves a slight hint of color on the lip. I'm addicted to First Frost. It's colorless, and great for prepping the lip, right before an application. Those nasty cracks and crevices disappear instantly.

Lash Tinsel
Glitter mascara
Last but not least, top off  Eye Def with a swipe of Glitter mascara. Apply a volumizing black mascara first, as the glitter specks are fine and adhere better. Add a top coat of Lash Tinsel to the lash in purple, blue, pink, gold, or whatever tickles your fancy. It's shimmery fun for a night out or holiday party.
