Ancient Cures and Active DeadSea Minerals

I had a friend come back from the Dead Sea years ago and I remember his skin was glowing. Literally, lit from within. It was the most beautiful memory I have of clean, perfect skin. AHAVA has harnessed the properties of the Dead Sea and transformed them into killer, skincare products. 'Using osmosis, the AHAVA Osmoter, a clinically proven extract of mineral- rich Dead Sea water.''

The Age Control category draws moisture from the inside out, where it is most needed. The result is a smoothing effect, much like a baby's bottom, reducing fine lines and surface wrinkles, protecting the skin against damage. Mostly, I love the way it feels and smells. It has a clean, fresh scent and applies like water.
Age Control Moisturizer SPF15 'has Hyaluronic acid and the Osometer. Amino Acids enhance water absorption with up to 12 hours of hydration.' Packed with a whole bunch of good stuff, I rely on the after effects. My skin looks and feels lighter, fresh from a spa visit only better. Like I'd been bouncing atop the ancient waters of the Dead Sea. If I can't go there now, AHAVA is the closest thing to being immersed in the healing waters.
The Age Control Intensive Serum and Age Control Eye Cream are up next. I can't wait to add them to my skincare, beauty routine.
I love AHAVA, and the idea of using pure minerals extracted from the earth. I'm eating clean, juicing and taking care of my body on the inside, while AHAVA takes care of my skin. Pretty cool. For now the Dead Sea is on my Bucket List, while AHAVA is on my nightstand.
I always try new brands on my skin first, to see how they react. I'm confident my clients will be instant AHAVA fans, loving the moisturizers and the Dead Sea concept.

"The Dead Sea has attracted visitors from around the Mediterranean basin for thousands of years. Biblically, it was a place of refuge for King David. It was one of the world's first health resorts (for Herod the Great), and it has been the supplier of a wide variety of products, from balms for Egyptian mummification to potash for fertilizers. People also use the salt and the minerals from the Dead Sea to create cosmetics and herbal sachets. In 2009, 1.2 million foreign tourists visited on the Israeli side.

Take Me Back

Zeno Line Rewind Wrinkle Reduction Kit is straight from the future. I bet Steven Spielberg would be a fan of it's ingenious future. A super cute handheld device, that emits red LED (Light Emitted Diode) with light and warmth, vibrates and massages the skin. Its non-invasive, costs pennies compared to botox or surgery, reduces fine lines, wrinkles and sun damaged skin.
Line Rewind vibrates, soothes and massages, with a warm, fuzzy feeling.
Used in combination with Line Rewind Serum, it's a one two punch knockout. Enriched with peptides and the potent antioxidant Reservatrol. It's a Spa day in the luxury of your own home. Line Rewind Serum supports a cellar turnover and diffuses wrinkles efficiently.
Peptides are the medical wave of the future, signaling the skin to produce more collagen. As we get older, we lose elasticity, the skin starts to sag and wrinkle.
Bummer, but hey if I can knock off a few years, I'm in. I love my little pink Zeno, its adorable and funky. When aliens come and abduct me, I'll look like a million bucks. They'll be amazed by my radiant, luminous skin, light years younger. Take that, age busters.

Next stop. Zeno Blemish Fighter. Who wouldn't want those nasty pimples zapped away?

All I Need is an Airstream, Sunscreen & California Dreamin'

Me & My Feathers Courtesy of Indigo Salon

I went to get my hair dyed by my good friend, always in varying shades of red. She owns a salon, in the Finger Lakes. Yeah, it's not New York, or LA but she is one hot, smoking, talented, Hair maven. She is on top of the trends. Last year she asked me to do her makeup, jet black eyes, a bronze sexy, biker chick look. She was off to see Aerosmith in concert. She digs Steven Tyler, who doesn't? When she pulled out feathers to put in my hair, I felt 18 all over again. With my banging, 80's blond streak and big hair. Badass, bold, in your face, world at my feet, watch out, I'm coming. A few feathers was all it took. My 73 year old mother, the original badass replied, " I want one!" So there you have it, creativity has no town or age limit. A little hippie chic, and your off & running. Get your groove back on.

FEATHER HAIR EXTENSIONS & CLIP-IN ACCESSORIES

"According to Fine Feather Heads' Facebook page, they use only the "highest quality REAL feathers from farm raised birds... in a variety of colors from blue, red, even wild hot pinks and purples to natural colors like golden-rod and tigers-eye.
Installation takes less than a couple minutes, with no damage to hair. And, they can be brushed, blow-dried, straightened and curled!
You can purchase a single feather in different colors or a bundle of feathers online and do your thing. You'd think these feathers would be a fly by night thing, but once they're washed, they evidentally become one with your hair and last for months."

Sugar and Spice

I usually stick to beauty posts, but my gorgeous, sexy, smart, PR maven friend at fab. Alison Brod Public Relations sent me Hanky Panky panties and I couldn't resist. I've been hearing rave reviews about them. (My model friend said, "are you kidding, they are awesome? That's all I wear.") Cheeky, cute, funky, fun, sexy and super comfy. They are only panties you will ever need. Worn by just about every female celebrity on the planet from Cameron, to Julia Roberts, Cher, Jessica Simpson, Marisa Tomei, and Jennifer Aniston. The list goes on. Once you go Hanky apparently, you never go back. I'm a fan of the leopard boyshort myself. They feel light, fresh and a little bit saucy. The ultimate in affordable, fine lingerie. They feel like a million bucks, no tugs, no lines, no pulling. There's a style for everyone. The thong is a popular, best-seller. The neutral colors are perfect for photo shoots, runway shows and under light clothing. HankyPanky.com is featuring a red, white and blue theme for the fourth. Right on time for the holidays, put some spark in your life. Hanky Panky has a personalized line (great for brides & the bridal party) and a smart, dollar point program. For every dollar spent, you get a point. When you accrue 250 points you get a $25.00 coupon towards a new pair. How fabulously swank is that?! Look & feel comfy in your intimates, just like a movie star. Treat yourself to a pair.

The Grass Is Greener

CoverGirl has teamed up with the legendary, makeup artist Pat McGrath. NatureLuxe was a hit on the Fall/Winter 2011 runway. It's available in stores near you. The NEW CoverGirl NatureLuxe line rocks. Pat & CG together. Hello, are you kidding? I received the products, and couldn't wait to get my hands on the natural, good for you, innovative line. Available at drugstores nationwide, it's luxe, premium cosmetics at their best. The price is right, too.

NatureLuxe Silk Foundation, the original product, is your first step towards natural, glowing skin. Filled with jojoba, rosehip extract, cucumber & water, it's a facial in a foundation. The texture is light and airy, and the shades are spot on. The foundation comes with an SPF 15, so you can save your money & stop worrying about your skin. Silk Foundation created by Pat McGrath for CoverGirl? Try it, you won't regret it. She's known for her talent extraordinaire, color expertise and skin- shading super ability.

CoverGirl Intense ShadowBlast Eye Color, available in 6 intense shades. With a built in primer, it applies like a liquid, but dries to a long-lasting, powder finish. It's water resistant and crease proof. From lush, gold green, rich brown and grey blue, there's a shade for everyone.

CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara gives your lashes a lift, while leaving them feeling light. It's great for sensitive eyes. The mousse formula contains beeswax, carnuba wax and tapioca polymers, for a soft, smooth feel on the lash. It's great for day, while running errands you'll looking like a million bucks. It's the touch of mascara that lasts into the night & won't break the bank.

"I Love Being Me, Don't You?" Sandra Bernhard

I had the pleasure of working with Sandra Bernhard in NY for years on many projects. From Press Junkets, to the talk show circuit, to "Queer Edge with Jack E. Jett" in LA. The Everything Bad & Beautiful Tour in NYC, the Posters, Press & Opening, and the short film by David Brind, featuring Sandra and Cady Huffman "Twenty Dollar Drinks."
Sandra was one of my first big-time celebrity clients, and one of my favorites. Her off-screen persona is wickedly smart, well read, versatile, an activist, humanitarian and kind, fun lady.
She gave me the confidence for whoever came next. Thank God, for that. 'MC' would be on the list. I was ready.

After countless times painting her face, I could show up with a small kit and be done with it. Mac's Viva Glam IV on the lips, Mac Blush in Dolly, Black Kohl liner and a deep eggplant on the lid. Mac's half lash # 20 and Armani's LSF in # 4 with a dollop of #6 depending on the desired bronze effect. We had it down to a science.

I learned a lot about life, and not just about makeup. I enjoyed our time working together. We moved on to different projects and working with different people. That's the nature of life and the biz. Karmically, she remains a cosmic friend.
She's the kind of person who still calls and remembers your birthday. If you get the chance to see her perform, don't miss the opportunity. She will invigorate, move, enlighten and revive your spirit, touching your soul.
