Monday Bloody Monday

Let's face it, everyone has a bit of the Monday blues.
I found a great pick me up product by Chanel. Poudre Douce, Soft Pressed Powder has light reflecting pigments that instantly brighten your skin. In the studio or on location, I sweep the pressed powder under the eyes and high on the cheekbones for instant luminosity on the face. Monday morning, a one- two swipe before work and you'll feel ready to face your week with a smile. Voila, instant sunshine on your skin.

Picture Perfect

A friend asked me the other day, "how do you take a good picture?
Can you show me how to pose?"
Here are a few modeling old school pointers:
First, you've got to be comfortable in your skin.
It's just a machine, don't let the camera intimidate you.
Second, think about something funny or sexy or even a secret while you pose. Really! The camera knows the difference between a real face and a fake one.
Third, don't be afraid to be your own beautiful goofy self! It's the odd, in-between the pose moments that the camera catches that are often the most beautiful.

Under the Circus Tent

Gone are the days of the Supermodel. The chameleons knew instinctively how to move, the perfect pose. They were beautiful creatures of illusion. They sold it & we were buying. In the age of reality TV, I find myself hitting rewind for inspiration. Peter Lindbergh was their ring leader, the master magician.

Fit to Be Tied

What a hard day on set with reFRESH an English magazine.
Gorgeous model? Great crew? What more could a girl ask for?
How to get that sleek, tan, toned - bod look you ask?
I can help with the skin. You've got to work on the killer abs!

I mixed Eucerin Original Lotion - with a bit of Armani Cosmetics LSF Foundation #9. (#9 LSF is a golden bronze shade that I use often at the Oscars to recreate a tan.) Add a drop of baby oil on top and you're off. Or knot.

EJF FOUNDATION & SUPERMODELS SAVE THE SEA

Over the summer and in the sticky heat, I got to work with photographer Eric Guillemain on the EJF campaign and Save the Sea. We all donated our time and positive energy for a great cause. EJF is an organization protecting the planet & the people.
Eric is a true artist and rocker at heart. He's found a way of creating movement and mystery in every picture. Here are a few of my favorites. Using just a brown pencil on the eye mixed with a little gloss,
I kept the makeup sheer, fluid and sexy, much like the sea.

Thanks to Dakota Johnson for being a beautiful human being, inside & out. To Eric for his energy & passion. To Kenshin & Tran at L'Atelier NYC for their gorgeous hair. Every makeup artist knows the makeup is only as good as the hair that frames the face. And to the supermodels, who were  gracious & gave up their time.

IT'S ALL SO SIMPLE

It's not that simple, but it's all in the attitude...

It's Not Who You Are, but How You Are

I have been fortunate as a make up artist to work with some very cool people.
Here are a few celebs who remain humble and humane in the pursuit of their dreams.
My make up, their stunning faces...
