Afternoon Delight

L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream arrived from the lovely people at SheSpeaks.com, for review. I admit it. I was a bit surprised when I squeezed out the suggested dot size application. It came out white. Well not white, exactly, more like a pearlized, shimmering silver white. The shade melted like magic, transforming the face with a radiant, glistening glow. The self-adjusting bead granules went to work, immediately. Imperfections disappeared, my face felt clean, light and moisturized. All the rage in Asia, B.B. creams were first developed for use after cosmetic procedures, lasers, surgery and peels. The healing, soothing properties offer fast, healing results. Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream in Medium 814 works for me. It primes, perfects, hydrates and corrects. Encapsulated pigments, Panthenol, Glycerin, anti-oxidants and Vitamin E ingredients equal quality results. Pretty, flawless finish skincare. Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream preps the skin for glamorama makeovers, and the whirlwind Award Season. At $10.95, leave one with your clients, they'll be impressed. While you're at it, pick up a few for yourself. Available at mass food and drug retailers, in four shades. Magic Skin Beautifier B.B. Cream by L'Oreal delivers, round the clock moisture. Talk about a home run, bases loaded.

Dressy Bessy

A matinee during the week, while everyone is working. One of my absolute, favorite past times. An empty, dark cinema and the magic of film. Transports you to another world, where problems are forgotten. The big screen, the compelling story, stunning visuals, an actors' transformation. Blissful entertainment. The writer in me craves creative illusion.

'Tis the season to celebrate movie making, blood, sweat and years it takes film to make it to the big screen. Award Season's in high gear. Hollywood buzzes with stars, directors, producers, screenwriters, press, agents, designers, stylists, hair and makeup artists. Smack dab in the eye of the Hollywood storm,  equal parts exciting and exhausting.

Stars rely on their beauty team to get them through the whirlwind, looking fabulous.
Some award worthy beauty products I count on to create Oscar worthy faces,
stunning day and night. Joan Rivers will be left speechless.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, radiant dew coverage creates a flawless veil of gorgeous skin. For a bit more coverage try Armani Maestro Foundation, great as a primer and for those needing a bit more coverage. Holds up on camera! Armani Lip Maestro in striking bold color and long lasting wear, delivers vintage Hollywood glam with a modern updated twist.

The Long and Short Of It

EverCreme by L'Oreal with Eva Longoria
Hollywood wraps up another frenzied, fun- fashion filled dramatic season. Angie's leg and her bizarre, Oscar strike a pose, the talk about town. NYC fashion week is done, and Europe is winding down. Celebs, models, editors, and industry peeps all happy their hair gets a much need styling break,  from serious damage repair. I didn't see one hairstyle on the carpet or runway that screamed, "Wow factor." Cameron's shag looked fried, dry, brittle, and a bit worn out. Gwyneth's loose, messy pony, I didn't get it. Brad's long strands, too stringy for my taste. What do I know, I'm a makeup artist? So, I asked a famous and favorite hairstylist, (who shall remain nameless) what he thought?
"The hair looked drab, unhealthy, uninteresting. Michelle Williams was stood out. Smart, cropped,  striking blond, paired with a dramatic eye, bold lip and voila, stylish and elegant."

Milan Late '80s, Me

When I modeled with long, virgin locks, I hated the dreaded hair stylist's chair. Every job was sheer torture, blow dryers, flat irons, hair spray, twelve hours in curls, straightened, crimped, it was endless, pulling and prodding a sore head. OK, it was the 80's, big hair ruled fashion. "BASTA, I said, that's enough." I shaved my head, and started fresh. Linda and I, 'the only short hair girls' rocking Paris.
 Moschino, the Great & Me

EverCreme by Loreal

EverCreme by L'Oreal, an amazing Shampoo and Conditioner makes all the difference. The Sulfate-Free Moisture System is the perfect fix for damaged hair. Natutal Omega 3 & 6 saturate the hair with moisture, leaving it light and not weighted down. EverCreme contains no heavy waxes, triple action hydration and natural botanicals, so your hair is never drab again. Just shiny & healthy. I love Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner, it's 100% Paraben and Vegan Free. How cool is that? Treat yourself to EverCreme Deep Nourishing Mask, instantly revitalizing dry, brittle hair.

Spring in Your Step

L'Oreal's Colour Riche Nail
'42 Shades, long lasting, supreme shine, breakthrough brush.' Need I say more?
Pink, to peach, to red, to metallics to neon blue, you will find the shade that tickles your fancy. Wearing a Silver gown, or a pair of jeans and a tank? Try Now You Sea Me a funky pastel blue. I'm not a pink girl, I usually go for dark shades. But, Penthouse Pink, the full coverage bubble gum Colour Riche shade, intrigues me. Ten days without chipping, that's way cool.

Spring is so close I can taste it. Well, not really but almost. With L'Oreal's new Colour Riche Balm for Spring 2012, out in mass in January, I can taste it. Super-duper, yummy hydration in pretty, wearable colors with SPF #15 to boot, sunshine is right on the lip. Packed with Shea butter, Argan Oil, Vitamin E and Rose Canina Oil, I'll put one in Award Season survival kits for all the lovely nominees. Running to and fro, doing press, luncheons, dinners can be intense. Not too mention the jet lag, temperature changes, and lack of sleep, or stress winter leaves the lips dry and cracked. Colour Riche Balm, in eight must have shades wins my vote. I'm addicted. I carry Pink Satin in my purse, and leave one on the Vanity. I get flustered if I can't find it. Available at drug retailers and at affordable prices, you can stock up on one, two, or ten.

Loreal's Infalliable Eye Shadow gives me goosebumps. I'm digging the clear, sleek packaging and the 24 Hour Intense coverage. So versatile, it blends effortlessly. Waterproof, crease proof, fade-resistant. Pretty soon, Infallible Eye Shadow will apply itself. The slim design lets you stack all twelve shades neatly in your kit.Ten pearly metallic colours to choose from and two matte, rest assured you'll find the perfect match.
I love Eternal Sunshine, a glam gold paired with Loreal's Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner. It's so chic and mysterious. Feeling bold? Try Midnight Blue, for show stopping eye colour in honor of Beyonce. A stunning, L'Oreal spokesperson.

L'Oreal's Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner, KAJAL. I just like saying the word, KAJAL. Sounds so sexy, decadent, exotic. The women of India and Eastern parts have mastered the look for centuries. The blacker, the better. The smoother, the better. The more intense pigment, the better. I have a friend, a VP at another Makeup Brand, who shall remain nameless. The one product she is never without, is Kohl Eyeliner. I did her makeup Oscar season a few years back. Who knows, maybe I'll surprise her with the intensely rich pigment, new technology of Kajal, Voluminous Smoldering Eyeliner. With it's unique 'Conal Tip,' designed to deposit product evenly, and Custom Sharpener to preserve the shape for precise application, I may just sneak one for her.

It's Showtime

Award season is almost here and I love it. The guilty pleasure of getting together with friends and watching what the celebs will wear. Paying close attention to hair and makeup, of course. Even doing a Joan Rivers bit, and dissing the misfires in good fun. I know, I know shame on me that's bad karma, but I can't help it. It's the best form of escapism. I have been immersed in award seasons for many years, working beauty suites for prestige cosmetic brands. Painting the faces of countless A and B listers, my favorite clients have always been the directors' wives, the moms and the non-celebs who "can't believe they look so beautiful." It's a special night for them. I make sure they look radiant, glamorous and glowing. There are scores of individuals trying to get their films from paper to reality, working diligently on a project for years. Writing, producing and praying it makes it to the big screen. An evening to be recognized for their fearless, smart, persistent end product, the inspiring achievement. They deserve the applause and star treatment.
Stila's Live From the Red Carpet Palettes are the winning ticket. Available in 3 Palette combos. they are hot, hot, hot and just in time for award season. Breathtaking Beauty Palette no. 1 has 6 eye shades and is my favorite. It's pretty and wearable, with just enough depth of eye color to add some drama. The shadows are appropriately named Cinema, Best Picture, Film, Academy, Theater, and Drama. There is a shimmery pink and flat beige base, which compliments the brown, sexy eggplant and dark gray. With the prettiest pink convertible color and Kitten, an all over gold shimmer powder you can't go wrong. Dusted on the shoulders, decollete and high cheeks, it looks warm and pretty on film, under the paparazzis' flash bulb blitz. Guava gloss is a nice bonus, it's a soft, flesh tone pink. Created by Celebrity Makeup Artist, Sarah Lucero and in collaboration with the E Entertainment team.  Live from The Red Carpet Palettes have step by step instructions inside, how to achieve your very own Red Carpet glamour look.
