Beauty with Purpose: To Twerk or not to twerk.
-Who are the strong, confident female role models today?
Watching Miley Cyrus host the 2015 MTV awards twerk and jerk while ridiculously exposed made me sad and nostalgic. I felt embarrassed for this generation of impressionable young girls trying to find unique ways to be seen in a sometimes cruel, over saturated, unladylike showbiz world.
Searching for independent healthy ways to express themselves in a confident, positive light. Don't misinterpret my two cents; I have no problem with nudity or celebrating the female body.
Come on, enough is enough. Who are the strong, confident female role models today? If I had a daughter, I'd hope she discovered her personal style in a funky, hip, her own different way.
How about bringing old Hollywood glamour forward with common sense, modern fashion and class. Sexy will most certainly follow. Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly and all the classic Hollywood beauties who remain forever in style.
Perhaps I'm old. Maybe I'm not with it, maybe the times have moved forward with naked narcissism and vulgarity. Before Selfies, there was a whole different breed of ethereal women to look up to. I emulated these beauties, they were my role models. Supermodels and super confident women from a different time. They posed nude without shame celebrating the female body, as did I. You knew you were safe in artistic hands and the images were stunning, timeless works of art.
Photographer Peter Lindbergh was behind many of the iconic pictures, then and now.
A legend and legendary lover of women.
Okay girls and ladies, loving and honoring yourself tastefully is something to aspire to...
