The Sea Green Eyes Have It ~ Fall Into Color & WEN

Ecstasy Lacquer in 18 lush colours paint the lips glossy delivering more coverage than traditional gloss. I'm digging the bold color choices for Fall: #401, #501, #601.

Eye Tint the 1st to market liquid tint for the eyes goes on wet for easy application, and blends dry in dazzling, pearl pigmented hues. I am smitten with the sea-color combination, #4 & #2.

WEN haircare created by Hollywood celebrity stylist Chaz Dean's is simply delicious. My hair smells and looks so good I could eat it.
I've been searching how and low for a new 'Leave In Conditioner', and WEN's Cleansing Conditioners are just the ticket. The sweet almond mint Re Moist Intensive Hair Treatment leaves hair looking fierce, and feeling fabulous. Chaz is a naturalist, and dog lover with a Zen vibe.

WEN® Cleansing Conditioner is a new concept in hair care. A 5-in-1 formula, it takes the place of your shampoo, conditioner, deep conditioner, detangler and leave-in conditioner. It cleanses hair thoroughly without lather or harsh ingredients. It won’t strip your hair of natural oils. Your hair is left with strength, moisture, manageability and better color retention.

Wet Daze of Summer ~ Fall Fling

FuNbOw CoLoR

Vacation over, office blahs got you down?
Hard Candy brightens the mood with a fuNbOw of trend- setting nail color.

Candy Sprinkles reminds me of '66 Convertibles and Drive Ins under the stars. Cotton candy, corn dogs, twist ice-cream with sprinkles on top. Cowboy boots, brass buckles, colored lights and the latest act on the big stage. Yeehaw, the Carnival's back in town. Shades like pixie pink, gummy green, sugar rush in bubbly, delicate pastel shades both chic & fun. Candy Sprinkles celebrates the tween, all grown up.

Crushed Chromes puts the metal to the petal in dazzling, bright chrome shades. Crush on Caribbean teal with micro specks of green glitter brings the ocean to your fingertips and toes smack dab in the middle of the concrete jungle.
Crystal Confetti puts the P in pizazz. Wear the funky shades alone or as a topcoat over Crushed Chrome for the ultimate finishing touch curtain call. With names like fireworks, hip hip hooray, jubilee you can't help but burst into song. The color range is spectacular from green apple to vibrant purple, red & blue, silver and black ice.

Glitteratzi Stand out from the crowd. Dare to be an original. Fire flash, glitter jam, party lights, pixie dust glitter looks fresh and hipster chic. Shades of rose, speckled white, burnt orange and mermaid magic make a statement. Nails always look camera ready.

Itzy Glitz

Neon nails scream take me back to the '80s. The nostalgia, the electricity, the trailblazing days of Madonna, plastic bangles and neon green fishnet stockings. Only the very bold will go there. I loVe the Itzy Glitz collection. Neon yellow, pink, green and blue. I can't paint my toes fast enough. There's a pretty subtle shade of salmon if you want to take it down a notch. Perhaps paint only your ring finger or toe with a pop of neon color. Go ahead and celebrate life. Embrace the artist that lives in you.

The Sorcerer's Magic Wand

I love stumbling upon new products. Especially funky, artisan, homespun products made in the good ole' U. S. of A., Minneapolis to be exact.
The Elixery makes me happy. Artistry, mixed with quality and moxy. In hard times when most people are playing it safe, The Elixery is creating and offering homespun, high-end product. Diane Sawyer should profile them in her "Made In America" series.

"Located in a vintage laboratory in the heart of Minneapolis, The Elixery is an artisan cosmetic house dedicated to old-fashioned craftsmanship."

"Our model is simple, but rare: We formulate original products, develop our own colors, and compound products from scratch in our laboratory. This gives us an intimate understanding of our products that few modern companies can claim.
We search the world to source the finest ingredients to ensure our raw materials are safe, ethical, and free of animal testing (see our animal testing policy statement).
Got a cosmetic science question or want to carry our products? Contact The Elixery. "

The Lipsticks feel rich, luxurious and buttery. Like old Hollywood glamour, diamonds and curls. The colors are bold, brazen and super hydrating. With names like Black Ruby, Devious, Fearless, Tempest, Raw Sugar, Hazardous, Karma The Elixery definitely has a sense of humor.

Elixery Lipsticks come in three smashing textures. Frost, Satin and Sheer, something for everyone. Check out the website, you might even find a fairy tale, to go with your new color. We can all use a bit of magic to spice things up. Especially when it comes in a shiny, silver tube of sexy color. Check out Black Ruby, a bold shade of Ruby, the lipstick that comes with her own fable of defiance. Women are meant to shine, embrace their independence. I won't spoil the fun, discover the quirky Lipstick stories on The Elixery, all by yourself.

"RAW SUGAR

She stayed home most of the time, caring for her husband and children. He was a serious man, and didn't seem to want her to have any fun.
But when he went to bed at night, she snuck out the door to her real life as a singer in a high class club on the other side of town. Her humble beauty enchanted men and women alike, and it was said that she had a voice like raw sugar - sweet, golden and rough.

Here's to your secret life."

Dessa

"This limited-edition lipstick was created for Dessa of the Doomtree collective with a charitable cause in mind.
Dessa wanted a matte red lip that didn't pull pink on her golden skin. The Elixery assembled a team that included Emmy® Award winning makeup artist Crist Ballas. Voila, a red with yellow undertones, no orange or blue in sight. The result, a universally flattering color.
Dessa is a well known contributor to social justice, and her signature lipstick is no exception. To that end, Dessa will be donating 100% of her share of the proceeds (20% of the profits) to CARE.org, an organization that educates and empowers women. The sale of this lipstick will benefit CARE's POWER WITHIN program, which focuses on educating girls in the poorest developing countries. Through this program, CARE hopes to educate 10 million girls by 2015."

The Elixery Lipsticks are 100 percent vegan and cruelty-free, none of the products were tested on animals or come from animal byproducts. Elixery creates products from scratch, and are involved with good folks like Dessa and Charity. I wanted to keep them my little secret, but The Elixery is too good not too share. Spread the word, ladies.

To keep the magic flowing, The Elixery whipped up Lilu Shimmer Veil.
For the princess, grown up in all of us. The sparkling highlight leaves the slightest hint of shimmer on the skin. The texture is indeed, just like pixie dust.

I received three Glimmerdust samples, yippee. A preview of more to come. Carnivale, the sweetest, pale pink shimmer. Warm, a sunshine, golden dust and Cool, flecks of rich silver. Silver is the shade for the season. Celebrity artist Troy Jensen featured silver on his website. The Elixery, a mix of old school and trailblazers all in one.

"I Love Being Me, Don't You?" Sandra Bernhard

I had the pleasure of working with Sandra Bernhard in NY for years on many projects. From Press Junkets, to the talk show circuit, to "Queer Edge with Jack E. Jett" in LA. The Everything Bad & Beautiful Tour in NYC, the Posters, Press & Opening, and the short film by David Brind, featuring Sandra and Cady Huffman "Twenty Dollar Drinks."
Sandra was one of my first big-time celebrity clients, and one of my favorites. Her off-screen persona is wickedly smart, well read, versatile, an activist, humanitarian and kind, fun lady.
She gave me the confidence for whoever came next. Thank God, for that. 'MC' would be on the list. I was ready.

After countless times painting her face, I could show up with a small kit and be done with it. Mac's Viva Glam IV on the lips, Mac Blush in Dolly, Black Kohl liner and a deep eggplant on the lid. Mac's half lash # 20 and Armani's LSF in # 4 with a dollop of #6 depending on the desired bronze effect. We had it down to a science.

I learned a lot about life, and not just about makeup. I enjoyed our time working together. We moved on to different projects and working with different people. That's the nature of life and the biz. Karmically, she remains a cosmic friend.
She's the kind of person who still calls and remembers your birthday. If you get the chance to see her perform, don't miss the opportunity. She will invigorate, move, enlighten and revive your spirit, touching your soul.

"I'm very much an optimist. I don't think I could do my work if I didn't believe there was some kind of hope for humanity."

Working at The Car Wash

I was asked by a friend to assist her with a bridal party this week-end. It's summer, there are tons of boys and girls taking the plunge. The only snag, the bride has requested airbrushing. I am unfamiliar with the technique. I was trained by the tactile masters, who use their fingers as brushes. The Temptu Airbrush System could not be farther away from my makeup application. I live for Armani's Luminous Silk Foundation. So, I borrowed a colleague's machine, grabbed a victim and began playing with foundation colors and the gun. It felt foreign, like you're painting a car instead of a face. I have to say, after a few tries and mists on the face, it left a flawless, layer of foundation. (however heavy it seemed to me). Once I got the shade right, I asked my friend how it felt? Her only comment was, "cold." Will I be running out to purchase my own Temptu Kit? Probably not. I love the look of translucent, breathable, flawless skin, using the sheerest possible foundation and minimal concealer. My 'client' came back later that day. I have to admit the foundation stayed put and looked pretty. Bride's all over the country have been requesting airbrushing and paying top dollar. Temptu's been used for High Definition TV, to cover scars & tattoos, and concerts for some time. Carrie Underwood is a fan of Temptu's Air Pod Body Glow and recently wore it on American Idol. Rest assured, brides and maidens, you can now have your special day, worry free. Temptu makeup holds up, for pictures, the reception, well into the night and even the after party. Temptu has come out with personalized kits available at Sephora. Is airbrushing the wave of the future, only time will tell.

“TEMPTU Airbrush Makeup helped Carrie survive the 100 degree Atlanta heat and humidity during her wedding, her makeup was flawless from beginning to end.  I love TEMPTU airbrush makeup because not only does it look beautiful in person but also in pictures, and no need for touch-ups on the photos. And now, airbrushing is not just for the pros like myself, but now anyone can go to Sephora and start airbrushing.”
